Winter Travel Recreational Teams

Designed for boys and girls in the U8-U14 age groups, the Bill Meyer League’s (BML) District 8 All-Star teams offer a higher level of soccer development compared to the Fall recreational season and serve as a valuable building block for leagues looking to develop their competitive teams.

The BML season ignites recreational players’ passion by letting them travel and compete against new teams and playing two games per weekend in the same location at different times. Selected from SYSA tryouts, these teams showcase enhanced recreational talent. A two-day end-of-season tournament provides a thrilling conclusion, encouraging continued play and helping them chart their future in soccer. The BML maintains a recreational spirit by using recreational rules of play, including a guarantee that each player will play at least 50% of each half.

Players are only eligible to try-out if they: 

• Was currently a registered recreational player for the fall recreational season with SYSA
• Soccer aged players for 6-7 years old for U8, 8-9 years old for U10, 10-11 years old for U12, and 12-13 years old for U14
• Have not been rostered on any competitive team during the past season
• No new player registration is allowed for this league.

Coach Requirements:

• Must have completed ‘Live Scan’ background check, before practicing/playing
• Must have completed SafeSport, and Intro to Safety courses – Done through GotSport
• Must complete a coaching application and be selected by SYSA
