1971 – The inaugural fall soccer season commences under the guidance of the City of Stockton’s Department of Parks and Recreation and a steering committee of 13 local citizens.

1972 – The Stockton Police Youth Activities (SPYA) Soccer League is established and affiliated with the California Youth Soccer Association in order to provide a spring soccer program for the children of Stockton.  The City of Stockton’s Department of Parks and Recreation continues management of the fall soccer program.

1976 – The SPYA Soccer League assumes responsibility for administering both fall and spring youth soccer programs in Stockton. 

1979 – Experiencing extensive growth, the Stockton Youth Soccer Association is established to oversee administrative responsibilities and assume liability for youth soccer in the city of Stockton.
